
Northern Waffles
Northern waffles, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, are a true delight. Dusted with powdered sugar or served with melted chocolate, they bring a touch of sweetness and comfort. Perfect for sharing a warm moment, they embody the essence of Northern indulgence!
Ingredients
- 300g flour
- 30g light brown sugar (vergeoise)
- 150g butter
- 2 eggs
- 250ml milk
- 250ml beer
- 10g baker's yeast
- 1 vanilla pod
- 1 tablespoon rum
- 1 pinch of salt
Preparation
1. Dissolve the baker's yeast in a cup with a little lukewarm milk.
2. Heat the remaining milk with the vanilla pod split lengthwise. Add the butter in small pieces and let it melt. Allow to cool slightly. Remove the vanilla pod.
3. Mix the yeast with the flour and add the brown sugar, salt, and eggs.
4. Gradually pour in the milk and beer, then the rum. Mix well to obtain a smooth, fluid batter. Cover and let rest for 1 hour at room temperature.
