
Vanilla Ice Cream
Vanilla ice cream, a timeless classic that melts in your mouth and awakens your taste buds with its exquisite sweetness. Perfect for refreshing and treating yourself at any time of the day.
Ingredients
- 375 ml of milk
- 375 ml of heavy cream
- 2 vanilla beans
- 145 g of granulated sugar
- 8 large egg yolks
Preparation
1. In a saucepan, heat the milk, cream, vanilla beans and their seeds with the sugar over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. The milk almost reaches the boiling point.
2. Let it infuse for 15 minutes off the heat. Remove the vanilla beans and gently reheat.
3. Beat the egg yolks in a large bowl. Add 60 ml of hot milk and smooth out the mixture.
4. Incorporate the remaining milk.
5. Transfer the cream to a clean saucepan, stirring constantly over low to medium heat, beat for 8 to 10 minutes, until it thickens and coats the back of the spoon. Do not let it boil.
6. When the cream has cooled slightly, cover it and refrigerate until cold.
7. Pour it into your ice cream maker (freezing time of 30 to 40 minutes).
Tip: Once the ice cream is served, you can add toppings: caramel, crushed hazelnuts...
