English-style scones
English-style scones are delightful little treats, light and slightly golden, perfect for accompanying tea. Soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside, they can be enjoyed plain or with jam and cream. A classic of British pastry that adds a touch of elegance to your gourmet breaks.
Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 40 g of butter
- 1 glass of milk (preferably small)
- 3 teaspoons of powdered sugar
- 1 packet of baking powder
- A small jar of strawberry jam
- A small container of thick crème fraîche
- A punnet of strawberries
Preparation
To begin
Mix (by hand!) the flour, butter, and baking powder.
Then add the sugar and milk. Is your dough soft? It's ready.
Next
Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
Now roll out your dough to a thickness of 2 cm (about 3/4 inch).
All that's left is to cut out small rounds that will bake in the oven for about 15 minutes.
Your golden and fluffy scones are ready to be enjoyed immediately.
Cut them in half, spread them with strawberry jam and then crème fraîche, add a few strawberries...
Serve your scones with a bergamot tea, prepared using your LAGRANGE kettle.
