Sweet potato churros and roasted camembert

Difficulty:

Crispy sweet potato churros, served with melting roasted camembert… a gourmet and surprising combination! The perfect sweet-savory alliance for a snack or an original appetizer.

Ingredients

Churros batter:

  • 600 g of sweet potato
  • 300 g of flour
  • 150 g of water
  • 15 g of fresh yeast

Other:

  • 1 camembert
  • Honey
  • Thyme

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.

2. Place the whole sweet potatoes in a baking dish, cover with aluminum foil, and bake at 200°C for 1 hour.

3. Peel them when they come out of the oven and mash them with a fork.

4. In a bowl, mix the sweet potato flesh with the flour.

5. In another bowl, mix the water with the yeast.

6. Finally, combine sweet potato, flour, water, and yeast, and mix until the mixture is homogeneous.

7. Let the batter rest for 12 hours in the refrigerator.

8. Select the Churros plates of the Premium Waffle Maker Gaufres®, insert them and start heating.

9. Cook your churros. Meanwhile, open the camembert, drizzle it with honey and thyme, then wrap the cheese in aluminum foil and bake at 200°C for 25 minutes.

10. Add even more indulgence by dipping the churros in the melted camembert!
