Christmas waffles, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, are a true holiday treat! Flavored with cinnamon and spices, they bring all the magic of Christmas in every bite. Perfect for a cozy snack or dessert, they'll delight both young and old!

Ingredients

  • 500 g flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 organic orange
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spices
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 75 cl of liquid (25cl water, 25cl beer and 25cl milk)
  • 125 g melted butter
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar, whipped cream, thawed red berries (optional)

With orange and spices

Christmas, fond childhood memories and plenty of gourmet cravings! What better way to celebrate this nostalgic and festive period than remembering the wonderful smell of waffles. Here we offer you a very delicious waffle recipe, inspired by René Lagrange's original recipe and subtly flavored with orange and Christmas spices!

1. Melt the butter in a double boiler or microwave and let it cool before incorporating.

2. In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, sugars, orange zest, spices, and eggs using a whisk.

3. Mix the liquid ingredients (water, beer, milk) and add the yeast to dissolve it in the liquid.

4. Mix both preparations and the cooled melted butter (hot butter can reduce the effectiveness of the yeast) using a whisk or the Mix Pro hand blender.


5. Beat the mixture until you get a smooth and homogeneous batter, without lumps.

6. Let rest for 15 to 30 minutes (don't let it rest too long, the effect of baking powder decreases over time unlike baker's yeast).

7. Pour the batter into your LAGRANGE waffle maker, don't forget to flip the device for well-textured waffles. Once the waffles are done, feel free to add Christmas decorations by dusting them with powdered sugar or adding whipped cream and thawed red berries.
